Thamil Muzhakkam
is a two hours broadcast providing the Tamil community of Sydney with
news and information that is of concern to the community.
The
first hour of the broadcast carries a variety of programs that are
of interest to all the sections of the Tamil community. These programs
include collection of special songs as an entertainment, locally produced
dramas and special programs such as "Issayum Kathayum",
children's programs, "Namum Nangalum" where important personalities
from the Tamil community in Australia are interviewed, "Mannin
Mynthargal" where our producers discuss current affairs with
important people from the Tamil homeland, and "Arasial Aivu"
where an in-depth analysis of current affairs is carried out.
The second hour of
the broadcast is dedicated to news bulletins about Sri Lanka and India,
correspondent reports from India and Sri Lanka, community announcements
and a world news bulletin.

Victor
Rajakulendran joined Radio 2000FM in 1991 when it was first launched
in Sydney. Victor is one of the founders of "Thamil Muzhakkam"
and has been involved in broadcasting in this broadcast from its inception,
concentrating mainly on News and Current affairs. Victor's "Arasial
Aivu" (Political Analysis) is very popular among the Sri Lankan
Tamil community. Victor also produces special programs for Christmas
and Easter and has participated in items such as "Villu Paddu".
Victor is a prolific political writer who has written numerous articles
and analysis on Sri Lankan ethnic conflict on the Worldwide Web. Because
of this, Victor has been used by ABC and SBS Televisions for their
special programs on Sri Lankan ethnic conflict.
Victor is the current Secretary for the Executive comity of the Tamil
broadcasting group. Professionally, Victor is an Entomologist and
works for the NSW Agriculture in Research on Insect Pests.
Kantharajah's
broadcasting and program producing experience spans over fifteen years,
encompassing stations such as Radio 2000 - MCRA (Sydney), ATBC (Sydney),
SBS, Radio 4EB (Brisbane), FM 88.5 (Bankstown) and Radio Ceylon (Relief).
During this time, he has covered news, current affairs, political
issues and cultural items.
Over ten years of Kantharajah's services have been dedicated to Multi
cultural Radio 'Radio 2000', where he has undertaken numerous positions
including Tamil radio group convenor, program coordinator, broadcaster
and producer.
For three years, he was also one of the directors of MCRA.
Kantharajah has compiled a book containing radio interviews of renowned
personalities that he carried out in Sri Lanka, India and Australia.
These interviews have been presented on the Tamil Radio program, 'Thamil
Muzhakkam' (Radio 2000). Another book was awarded the 'Sahithya' award
for literature from the Sri Lankan government, in the year 2001.
He has also passed the 'Tamil Language Assessment Test' for radio
broadcasters and Journalists, conducted by the Institute of Language
at the University of New South Wales.
Siva
Brabaakaran has been a member of 2000FM since it's inception in 1991
and he has been producing programs for "Thamil Muzhakkam"
since 1992. He also takes part in activities with several community
organisations particularly those serving the Tamil community in Australia.
Professionally, Siva is an Electronic Engineer with postgraduate qualifications
in Business Management and is working for "Optus" in Sydney.
Annamalai
Sundaram joined the "Thamil Muzhakkam" broadcasting group
in 1995 and from that time he has been involved in preparing and delivering
the Indian News of this program. During this time Annamalai has also
produced a radio drama.
Annamalai is very active in promoting the Tamil language among the
young Indian community in Sydney and to this end he is actively involved
in running weekend Tamil schools in Sydney. He has trained youths
of this Tamil school to become news- readers in "Thamil Muzhakkam".
Annamalai is popular for the role he plays as Master of ceremony at
Tamil school functions.
Professionally, Annamalai is a Chemical Engineer and he is a Chemical
Manager with Castrol Australia, NSW.
Gnanasegaram
Srirangan (Rangan) has been living in Sydney for the past 14 years
and willing participant of the life of the Sydney Tamil community.
His indulgence includes broadcasting, publication, stage management,
oration, singing, art, drama, community work and various other forms
of extracurricular activities. Rangan has been involved in this broadcast
for more than 8 years.
Rangan is a well-received compere for cultural events in Sydney. He
participates in various stage activities including solo acting, 'Villu
Paddu", "Katha Prasangam", stage and radio dramas.
Rangan's talent in acting was well expressed in the Radio Serial titled
"Pariyari Paramu" in which he also acted. He also can draw
well and has contributed to book covers etc. Rangan is a good singer
too and he has participated in various stage music programs in Sydney,
Brisbane, Melbourne and Canberra.
Rangan is an I.T Graduate and currently working in a private firm
in Sydney.
Maheswaran
Prabakaran's professional background is in Information Technology
and he has a Master of Computing in Networking.
He has been a broadcaster for many years working in community radio
in Sydney since the early 1990s. In 1999 he was named the "Young
Tamil Achiever in Sydney. Praba is also in high demand among the Tamil
community for stage announcements & compering music programs.
- Mala Sridhar is the
main female voice of the "Thamil Muzhakkam" broadcasting
group. She has been preparing and delivering the Indian News program
of this broadcast for sometime now. She also plays the same role in
the 24 hour radio in Sydney, the Australian Tamil Broadcasting Corporation.
Professionally Mala is qualified
in Electronics and Telecomunication engineering and Information Technology
and is working for an Australian importer as a sales administrator.
