Movimento
FM is the Italian community radio program on Radio 2000 98.5FM and
is produced and managed by a dedicated team of young Italo-Australian
volunteers with several years of experience in radio broadcasting,
radio production and other business skills.
Movimento FM is a quality bi-lingual radio program aimed at both the Italian community and non-Italians who share a love for Italian music and culture. It plays Italian contemporary music and provides information on sport, cultural, local and international news, and information on activities within the local Italian community. Movimento FM has broadcasted for five years in its current format and during this time has also been involved in presenting and supporting community events. The program features local guest speakers, overseas correspondents and community representatives and conducts exclusive interviews of renowned Italian and Italo-Australian personalities and significant Italian artists. Some artists interviewed to date include, Paola e Chiara, Laura Pausini, Umberto Tozzi, Pupo, Gigi D’alessio, John St Peeters, Joe Avati and John Barresi to name a few. Movimento FM is a unique program that promotes and brings today's Italian culture to the community and inturn brings the community together through our functions and events. It organises, supports, promotes and participates in various community activities and high profile events effectively acting as ambassadors of Italian language, culture and goodwill.
