Radio Timor Oan is an East Timorese Community Radio program broad casting in “Tetum” , the main Timorese language. We aim is to enhance and encourage unity within the East Timor Community in Sydney and perserving ET culture by broadcasting its news and songs in Tetum.

Duarte Martins
Duarte is also one of the original assistant since 1996 and in 1999 he became the technical programmer on the panel of Radio 2000FM, MCRA/Radio Timor Oan. He left East Timor to Portugal in 1975, during the Indonesion invasion to this country.
Then in 1981 he migrated to Australia. Duarte is known to the ET community due to his involvement in ET local community activities. For instance in 1999 he went to ET as a volunteer worker sent by East Timor Relief Association. Then in 2001 he returned to ET, where he met and then married Joana da Silva Aleixo.

Sombo became involved with Radio Timor Oan, since it was established in 1996, as an assistant then he became the broadcasting personnel from 1999 until today. He has been dedicated most of his time participating in ET community activities since arriving in Australia in 1995. Married to Solange, “ his greatest supporter and fan” and they now are parents too.
